Angela is the owner of Velvet Edge and has spent the last 15 years creating hair that feels elevated, effortless and a little outside the ordinary. She specializes in blonding, dimensional and lived-in color, vivid color, extensions and wedding makeup, with a love for creating customized looks that fit each client’s individual style.

When she’s not behind the chair or running Velvet Edge, you’ll probably find her traveling, at a concert or music festival, getting outside in nature, taking a spontaneous road trip or spending time being an aunt.

Mikaila

Barber + Curl Specialist | 8 Years Behind the Chair

Mikaila is an experienced barber and curl specialist with 8 years behind the chair and a passion for creating styles tailored to the person wearing them. From clean fades and classic cuts to curls, perms and creative styles, she loves working with different textures and creating a look that fits each client’s personality.

She especially loves services that let her get creative, including head painting and mullets, while her attention to detail shines through in beard shaping and straight-razor shaves.

Molly

Barber + Stylist | 7 Years Behind the Chair

Molly is a dual-licensed barber and stylist with 7 years behind the chair. Mixing her barbering skills with a love for creativity and connection, she specializes in clean skin fades, precise scissor cuts and smooth head shaves. She has a strong eye for detail and loves making every client feel confident and like their best self.

Outside the shop, Molly is usually chasing waves at the beach, getting lost in a good book or embracing her signature love for all things pink.

Bailey is a creative stylist with 6 years behind the chair and a love for hair that feels personal, expressive and anything but boring. She specializes in blondes, vivid color, textured cuts and long hair, whether you’re looking for a subtle refresh or something that makes a statement.

Outside the salon, Bailey is usually listening to music, heading to a festival, getting lost in a dark romance book, playing Dungeons & Dragons or watching movies. At home, she’s kept busy by her three cats and a dog.

Aubrey is an experienced stylist with 13 years behind the chair and a passion for creating beautiful, healthy hair that feels completely personal to each client. She specializes in dimensional blondes, custom color, precision cutting and elevated styling, tailoring every look to the client’s texture, features and individual style.

Styling is one of Aubrey’s biggest passions, from glamorous Hollywood waves and romantic updos to timeless vintage hair. Originally from Wilmington, North Carolina, she has called Florida home for eight years and now brings her artistry and experience to St. Petersburg.

Albie

Master Stylist + Educator | 50+ Years Behind the Chair

Albie Mulcahy is an internationally acclaimed hairstylist, educator and platform artist with more than 50 years of experience spanning over 40 countries. His career has included training at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in London, working alongside some of the industry’s most respected artists and becoming one of only two World Class Associates with Paul Mitchell Systems.

Albie is also an important part of Velvet Edge’s story. As the salon’s former owner, he built a legacy behind these chairs before passing the business on to Angela. Today, he remains part of the Velvet Edge team, bringing decades of knowledge, artistry and precision to every client who sits in his chair.
